Our Materials
We source our raw beeswax from a New England apiary that is dedicated to producing unrefined honey and beeswax. For our scented candles, we use only organic and/or wild-harvested essential oils - no fragrance oils! Our wooden wicks are crafted from all-natural, untreated wood sourced from US Forest Stewardship Council-approved mills.
The candle vessels are made from recycled glass and are fully recyclable after use. They can also be repurposed as tumblers or, better yet, reused indefinitely with our candle refills, votives or tea lights!
Our Studio
Each candle is hand-poured or hand-dipped in our Maine studio with a commitment to quality, sustainability and craftsmanship. There are no secrets or shortcuts, just transparent work that respects both the environment and the people bringing our products into their homes.
Our Ethos
At Momo’s Place, we believe nature has already done the hard work. Our products are an extension of this philosophy—simple, natural, and handmade. The age-old craft of candlemaking is elemental; for thousands of years it provided necessary light, using ingredients from nature and skills passed down through the generations. Nowadays, candles allow us to reconnect with an earlier, slower rhythm to the day and the primal parts of us!
Meet Momo
Momo is the hands and heart behind Momo’s Place—a maker, a nature lover, and a believer in the power of human connection. What started as making candles in her kitchen, over a decade ago in the early days of motherhood, evolved into a way to slow down, find some semblance of calm in the chaos and spend more time with friends and family. Momo creates each candle with a feeling of joy for a future filled with lively gatherings, family meals, a book in the bath, and enough time to linger in life’s simple pleasures.
